Movement in Detroit
Being from Detroit is something I take massive pride in. There is something about the city and its vibe that truly make me honored to call this place home. It has been an exploding treasure chest of music since it was founded by the French. The two most notable are the Motown Era which ruled middle 20th century American music industry and the techno era that currently thrives in the Motor City today. The community of those who love electronic music has grown tremendously since the genres earliest tracks. People of all ages are finding their form of electronic music and expanding their tastes outward. It was with Funky Brass Electronic I fell in love with the style of music, and since then I have explored sub genres such as Dubstep, Trance and the music of Detroit city, House.
I am stoked to be attending Movement over Memorial Day Weekend for the first time and I cannot wait to experience this world renowned festival. It was not until late high school that I began exploring the festival scene and ever since this has been one I’ve been dying to attend. I got involved with their street team earlier this year, and I’ve been trying to promote the festival through my social media platforms. I’m hoping to bring a crew next year, and you should too!
This year the lineup is stacked with exceptional acts like Disclosure, Carl Craig, Golf clap, Griz, FISHER, Gucci Mane, and so many others. Get Real who is originally hometown Claude Vonstroke, and Green Velvet will be playing the festivals too, and I couldn’t be more stoked to check both of these guys off my artist bucket list, and even better, together!
