JESSIE REYEZ @ O2 EMPIRE SHEPHERDS BUSH

Our fave Colombian- Canadian star Jessie Reyez is back in the U.K and she took to the stage in London for the final show of her “The Yessie Tour”.

Starting with “MOOD”, Jessie appeared silhouetted between two giant hands as her adoring fans screamed back all the lyrics to her. Covering every inch of the stage, she gave us a 23 song set list, including her hits “Gatekeeper”, “Mutual Friend,  and “Shutter Island”. The bras flew at the stage in the first songs and Jessie collected them like trophies, swinging them above her head before piling them up on her mic stand.

She even serenaded a fan who was holding a cardboard sign scribbled in marker, asking if Jessie could sing “Adíos Amor”. So of course she obliged, saying how could she deny that when people like that fan (who had queued in the rain to meet Jessie) came to every show and waited outside for her after the shows. And so, she sat on the edge of the stage and sang the words to the starry-eyed fan.

Jessie called out a couple in the crowd as she asked if anyone had made it out of the friendzone as she sang “Apple Juice”. The audience cheered for the couple at the back who had successfully made it out of the friendzone and Jessie jumped around on stage. The energy was electric, the venue filled with the sound of every audience member singing along to Jessie’s songs.

For her encore, Jessie danced to “One Kiss” by Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa which she famously wrote for the iconic duo. Then she treated us to a cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen which she said was her favourite track to chill out to and she wanted to share it with the crowd.

Ending her set with “Figures” with just her guitar, Jessie let the audience sing it back to her and with tears in her eyes, she left the stage vowing she’d be back soon.

While we wait for Jessie's return to the U.K, she’ll be covering North America this summer as she performs at major festivals so you can catch her there. Get your tickets here.
